So you want to sell your book on our site as an e-Book?

Before we can accept your work, there are several criteria that we insist on.

  1. All submitted books must be edited by an accredited editor.
  2. Your book must be emailed to us on Microsoft Word.
  3. We will not accept illegal and/or obscene material. (refer conditions below)
  4. We require in no more than 300 words, a synopsis of your book.
  5. We require a short Author bio, of no more than 300 words.



TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR AUTHORS AND PUBLISHING HOUSES

THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBES THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE READINGIT.COM WEB SITE AND MAY BE AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME.

  1. User Eligibility
    Our services are available to any individual or company who is of legal age to enter into a legally binding contract.
  2. Fees, Prices and Commissions
    Unless otherwise stated, all dollar amounts are shown as US.Dollars.
  3. Copyright Infringement
    readingit.com allows authors published/unpublished and publishers to submit content which is immediately available through our site. It is possible that a user may illegally submit content for which they are not legally entitled to do so. If you are aware of any such content being distributed through readingit.com then please contact us immediately at info@readingit.com.
  4. Submitting Your Content For Sale
    The individual, company, group etc is responsible for ensuring that he/she, it is legally entitled to distribute and charge for any item that they sell through readingit.com. This includes adhering to copyright and IP laws as well as pre-existing legal contracts. If you are the author of a published work, you must ensure that your contract with the publisher has granted you rights to sell electronic versions of your work through readingit.com and / or its associates. Furthermore, the individual or company etc, must ensure that they have the right to post any additional content such as text descriptions, cover design, art work, reviews etc. Material which is legally obscene, such as child pornography will not be admitted. Information that can be used to commit serious crimes such as documents detailing the production of bombs, weapons, drugs etc, is strictly prohibited. readingit.com reserves the right to remove any objectionable content, for any reason, without limitation or legal recourse. By submitting content for sale at readingit.com, you grant readingit.com a non-exclusive right to sell such content. As readingit.com owns a number of websites it may also sell your content through them. By submitting your content on this site, you also grant the right to sell your content and / or use text descriptions, cover design, art work, reviews etc for merchandising purposes. All commissions and royalties through these sites shall be identical to those stated in this Agreement. readingit.com have the right to distribute your eBooks through any electronic means, including but not limited to digital download on CD ROM, floppy disk etc. readingit.com does not have the right to distribute your content in any paper form such as printing copies without the agreement form the author or publisher. The individual, company, group etc acknowledge that they will be eligible for a royalty payment for each download that each unique user purchases their total content however, readingit.com will not be held liable for the number of times the content is illegally distributed by that same unique user purchaser. By uploading their content to readingit.com you/they are stating your acceptance of this Agreement and that you understand the terms governing how readingit.com distribute your content to purchasers.
  5. Full Version Content
    Unless clearly stated, all material submitted on readingit.com must be in full version and free of any further fees or passwords for access.
  6. Fraud
    All descriptions submitted to readingit.com must accurately describe the submitted material that the individual, company, group etc are offering for sale. Any misleading or otherwise inaccurate descriptions may constitute fraud and may result in a forfeiture of applicable royalties and may result in legal prosecution against you.
  7. Royalties
    readingit.com will pay the content owner 60% of the retail price set by the content owner and from time to time, a content owner may change their set retail price. In such cases, royalties will be based on the set price in effect when a shopper commences through the checkout process. readingit.com reserves the right to sell any item at any price however, the content owner will still be paid the full 60% of the retail price that they have set.

    Royalty payments will be paid to the content owner by the 20th day of the following month.
  8. Suspension
    readingit.com at its sole discretion may suspend any person who violates these terms, or for any reason the said company deems appropriate.
  9. Privacy
    readingit.com is committed to ensuring the privacy of all users of this web site.
  10. No Warranty
    readingit.com our suppliers and affiliates provide no warranty whatsoever and all services are provided "AS IS" without warranty or condition, express, implied or statutory.
  11. Limited Liability
    Under no circumstance shall readingit.com, its suppliers, affiliates, officers, directors or employees be liable for lost profits, or any damages arising out of or in connection with the use of our website or any service provided however rising including negligence.
  12. Indemnity
    All individuals, companies etc using this website agree to indemnify and hold readingit.com and their subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees harmless from any claim or demand, including legal fees made by any third party due to your breach of this Agreement or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
  13. Changed Terms
    Should it be necessary at any time to change or modify these Terms and Conditions of Use applicable to the use of this site, or any part thereof, or to impose new conditions, such changes, modifications, additions or deletions that may have impact on our suppliers, shall be made by a mutual agreement with our suppliers. Other changes deemed necessary will be effective immediately upon notice thereof, which may be given by any means including, without limitation, posting on the site, or by electronic or conventional mail, or by any other means. Any use of the site by anyone after such notice, shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of such changes, modifications, additions or deletions.
  14. Miscellaneous
    These Terms and Conditions of Use shall be construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. No waiver by either party of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default. The section headings used herein are for convenience only and shall not be given any legal import.
